Top five played with 2 year old toys under $25

This is a list of the top ten items I have purchased for my two year old.

He tends to play with something and then forget aboutitforawhile but these ten things get played with every if you can believe it!!

1. Discovery Kids Cardboard House

http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys/Discovery-Kids-Coloring-3-Foot-Cardboard-Playhouse-for-Color-Me-Fun/6982020/product.html?cid=202290&kid=9553000357392&track=pspla&ef_id=UYF7ogAABSr0BTaK:20130501203130:s

$24.49

I actually bought mine on Amazon because I’m a prime member and get free shipping which is rare for Alaska but without prime it’s cheaper on Overstock.

My so loves this house! He especially loves if I scare him at the window and run to the door, silly of loves being scared and asks “one more time” a million times lol.
My husband is 6’2 and can sit up in the house just fine.
My only complaint is that it is big and takes up a lot of space but perfect if you have a play room!
Currently he has an Elmo toy organizer and Cars chair in his house.

2. Alex Little Hands Button Art

http://www.amazon.com/Alex-Little-Hands-Button-Art/dp/B003AP4JPE

$17.91

This is great because you place the buttons on the correct colors and he learns as he plays. He really enjoys this and announces the colors as he places them in the holes. It comes with 10 different pictures and the bottom is where you store your buttons while you’re not playing. It tides up well and I enjoy seeing him learn and play at the same time.

3. Fisher Price Drillin Action Tool Set

http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Drillin-Action-Tool-Set/dp/B002SXMH3K

$17.97

When Ky’s friends come over to play both boys and girls love this toy!
It’s neat because the drill actually works and goes in reverse as well.
The hammer can be a little annoying but what toddler doesn’t enjoy a little noise here and there, or always!

4. VTech Spin and Learn Color Flashlight

http://www.amazon.com/VTech-Spin-Learn-Color-Flashlight/dp/B007XVYPS2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1367471056&sr=8-1&keywords=Toddler+toys

$12.99

This isn’t really a flashlight but he loves it. He puts a real flashlight in us eyes so this is more appropriate for him for now.

It’s a little loud but he enjoys pressing the few buttons it has so I’d say its great for being $12.99!

5. Crayola Washable Finger Paint

http://www.amazon.com/Crayola-4ct-Washable-Fingerpaints-Primary/dp/B002VBXL52/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1367471621&sr=8-9&keywords=Toddler+toys

$9.80

This is the best and most purchased of all in this house hold!
We love painting everything and anything. If you’re familiar with my blog you can see all the different times he has used this paint for many different things.
These tubes last awhile and cleanup so easily.
This is my favorite and his favorite!

Jaquard bunny

This is a cute baby stuffed animal that my little ones will absolutely love! Mom has been making and mailing things for our little one who isn’t here yet and our toddler claims it all for him as soon as it arrives! She will have to start making two of everything. 🙂

For this project Mom got the yarn on sale at Michaels.

You can find the pattern for this at http://www.bernat.com/product.php?P=1&LGC=babyjacquards

She ended up running out of yarn so used a pink and while yarn to finish the sides. She’a also thinking of embroidering a face on the bunny which would be cute but I think it’s fine without one.

Hamburger and Accessories

Mom made these hamburgers and parts for our little cousin. She added them to her kitchen set and enjoys playing with them and pretending to make everyone lunch!

I love the food items because they’re soft and fun!

Here is a link to a lot of different food patterns to try!

ChuChi

When my cousin first sent us a ChuChi as a gift I thought what in the world… This thing looks crazy without a face!

Well I gave it to Kyler and he was in love from day one. Its a portable, unbreakable, comfy, night-light. It has two modes, one night light and the other is a heartbeat which is easy to turn on by the hand. It automatically shuts off after 2 minutes to help battery life.

Kyler really enjoys ChuChi when it’s dark outside and we’re in the car or at night time best of all. It’s cute and cuddly, can’t go wrong!

The only downside to ChuChi is that it’s only surface washable. My son has definitely gotten ChuChi dirty over time and he’s due for a cleaning that I can’t figure out!

You can purchase your own ChuChi for about $25 at Amazon… follow the link!…

Building Blocks

At Kyler’s check-up they asked if he stacks things yet… Well he hadn’t so I was worried that he was behind so started trying as soon as we got home! Of course he’s not behind so don’t worry if your child is one and isn’t doing this yet!

My sister Tiffany got him stacking blocks for Christmas and he loves them!

He enjoys when I stack them and he can knock them over most of all but he will stack three on top of each other… They normally aren’t stable but he does a great job!

He loves to bang the blocks together as well! He loves to share and gives me a block to stack with him. 🙂

12-18 Months

Develop better fine motor skills and coordination. Most toddlers are quite content to scribble with crayon on paper (and anything else that happens to be in the vicinity), to stack blocks instead of just banging them together, and use utensils when eating. All these skills take practice, so be sure to give your toddler plenty of opportunity to do so, and don’t expect perfection in the days or weeks to come.

Playful Puppy Pull Toy

Melissa & Doug Playful Puppy Pull Toy

I wouldn’t go out and buy one today but it’s an ok toy to have.

I love the pull string idea and the puppy wags his tail when you’re pulling him along which is cute.

Kyler enjoys chewing on the strings as he pulls it and seems to end up carrying it around by the string more than anything!

It recommends starting at age 18 months but he is 12 and fully understand the concept of the string pulling but prefers to carry him.

This toy is brightly painted with non toxic paint.

I don’t like it being so hard and him easily falling on the toy, yes I may be a worry wart but that’s the only down side I can think of.

He loves anything that’s a dog toy and seems to fully enjoy this one.

This can be purchased for only $15 on amazon… http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VNXSPA/ref=as_li_tf_til?tag=tmim-20&camp=0&creative=0&linkCode=as1&creativeASIN=B000VNXSPA&adid=08ZB98SY678WTNX99ZX2

Musical Dinosaur

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go! Poppity Pop Muscial Dino

It’s so fun to watch Kyler chase these balls around. He hands them to me to throw in for him at times too.

They bounce out of control and all over the place most of the time but sometimes they go back in themselves.

He really enjoys this toy. I don’t like how he tries to chew on the balls but they’re too big to put into his mouth all the way so safe.

He likes to pull on the knob that’s stuck inside the bouncy hole, not too sure if that will cause him to break it or not but it keeps him occupied since it doesn’t come out!

You drop the balls down the dino’s back or throw them into the center and they either come out the top or out of the dino’s mouth.

This is a lot of fun to watch and play along with him.

You can find this toy at Amazon for $35 which is the cheapest I’ve found so far.
